We were honored to attend the 2024 UC Davis Eye Symposium, celebrating the legacy of Mark Mannis, M.D. as Chair of UC Davis Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Science. We are grateful for his partnership with our eye bank, his contributions to eye banking, and the gift of sight. The three-day event encompassed different ophthalmologic subspecialties through lectures, evidence-based research, and special sessions with former cornea fellows trained by Dr. Mannis. A few of the topics highlighted at the symposium were the latest advancements in cornea, retina, and neuro-ophthalmology subspecialties. Experts in the different ophthalmic fields were able to address areas that can affect the daily practices of ophthalmologists and provide them with the most current recommendations for best practices. The symposium was a wonderful opportunity to learn, network, and celebrate with Dr. Mannis and the UC Davis Eye Center.
